Cre-Away is an effective, patented, powdered creosote modifier. It was developed by a chemical engineer after having had a chimney fire himself. Its four component powder works a little differently than TRW. Apply Cre-Away directly to the flue (not into the fire) using the 1 lb. applicator bottle. Apply during the heating season to modify glazed creosote, making it easier to remove. Apply Cre-Away after every cleaning to make any remaining stubborn deposits safer and to neutralize the acidity and odors from the creosote. Cre-Away is sold in a 1 lb applicator bottle.
